(November 25, 2008) Coca-Cola files patent to ask if they can change their products to try to make thickened drinks. They want to add things like creams to make their products more interesting. 2) "Coca-Cola launches their first fruit-flavored malt drink in Nairobi"
(November 27, 2008) Coca-Cola has launched their first fruit flavored drink in Nairobi targeted to young adults. The company has named this product Schweppes Novida, which in Portuguese means "New Life." In Africa, as said in the article here, the production and retail of malt drinks are worth about 106 million dollars.Coca-Cola has invested a lot into this new brand, entering the world of malt drinks. They have planned advertisement plans such as billboards, commercials via media, and mall branding. Even though Coca-Cola already has established itself in Kenya under this brand such as spakling water, Dasani water and coffee and tea brands, they've never approched the malt drink industry before.

Demand for heavy machinery are affected by economic conditions, making companies that are in this sector cyclical. Cyclical consumer products are items that are not necessities. They are more luxury than necessity.
